Playing our High Bandwidth stream on Apple computers

If you are struggling to get our High Bandwidth video stream working on your Apple computer, you may need to grab a FREE download of Flip4Mac from the Microsoft website. Once this plugin is installed, you should have no problems playing the video stream, at least in Quicktime, and in many cases, embedded in this page in Safari too.

Streaming on iPhone and other phones

We are currently testing for iPhone and other mobile platforms. Right now our 56k AAC+ should work on newer iPhones, and all iPhones should be able to use our 128k MP3 link. If you have any feedback on support for mobile phones, we'd love to hear about it in the chatroom. Newer mobiles from other manufacturers may also be able to play the streams.

Streaming over 3G

At the moment, streaming using a 3G connection is patchy - this, in many cases, is down to your operator or contract terms. For example, O2 Contract and PAYG customers who take advantage of the free Internet 'bolt on' are expressly forbidden from using their 3G connection to access live streams such as Renegade. For many of us on the team, the streams work fine on our mobile devices using WiFi, but as soon as 3G is used, the streams wont even load. By contrast, O2 Contract iPhone owners are on a different data plan from the 'free' internet users, and the 56k and 128k streams play fine. We definately suggest experimenting with Wifi/3G and our streams to see where you stand.
